Informal Learning

In 2009 we received funding from niace to provide a training programme called Informal Learning. The aim of the project was to encourage Nottingham residents – mostly women from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds – to informally exchange skills, knowledge and experience in order to help learning and development. It was the perfect opportunity to work with some of the other grassroots organisations we have worked with in the past. Ourselves, along with Somali Women’s Organisation, Satellite, East African Education Centre, Malawi Association Midlands, United Help, PWWG and African Women Empowerment Forum, ran a number of workshops in a variety of environments on embroidery, sewing, music, creative arts and all kinds of other skills as part of this.
