Healthy Minority Communities

Welcome to Floating Support

Since 2003 CCA have been providing floating support to disadvantaged and vulnerable people around Nottingham. Floating support services help people maintain their tenancy and avoid the 'revolving door' problem.

We currently provide our clients, some of whom have mental health issues or learning difficulties, with outreach support, advice on a wide range of subjects, up-to-date information on what other help and facilities are available to them in the area, and constant support.

If you would like to refer someone to our Floating Support service please see our Referral page for more information as well as to download the Referral Form

This provision has benefited from forging links with Nottingham Trent University, The University of Nottingham, Lincoln University and The University of Hong Kong’s social work departments. Co-operative Community Action has acted as Practice Assessor for both undergraduates and post-graduates. This work has enabled us to improve the quality of our work and our support workers and embrace the social work standards.

Co-operative Community Action was nominated for the Times Educational Supplement Award for the most outstanding contribution to the community by the Nottingham Trent University. In December 2006 we were accredited by Nottingham City Supporting People Team to provide support services within the city.

We have worked closely with Framework, Nottingham Council Housing Association, AWAAZ, Amani Talawah and Rethink and formed a consortium to bid for the Mental Health Provision.
