In 2002, CCA was able to launch the Enterprise
Development Service, with initil funds provided by the Phoenix
Fund.
CCA sees enterprise as a key factor in social
integration It believes that Community Organisation leads
to Community Development
It offers help to all levels to those who
want to develop social enterprises or locally-based small
businesses. The services we can provide are:
- Pre-business start - Entrepeneurial Motivation Programme
- Business start - including assistance to conduct market
survey, business plan an linking to funding stream
- Supporting local residents towards social enterprise
- Business support mentoring, working closely with entrepeneurs
- Promoting/developing community-based social enterprise
groups
- Building new partnerships to increase the effectiveness
of local services
- Designing/delivering need-led personal development programmes
- Encouraging volunteers to widen participation in social
enterprise and promote local development process

| Achievements
Since starting in 2002, CCA's
efforts have wielded a number of achievements. Some of these
recent achievements include:
- 90 individuals received advice and guidance on educational,
training, employment and self-employment
- 29 individuals received training on Entrepeneurship Motivation
and Development
- 5 groups received tailored-training on organizational
development and effective management
- 5 new social groups developed, launched and continued
to be assisted. These are Somalian Community Nottingham,
Punjabi Women Welfare Group, Parkhill Educational &
Cultural Centre, Sikh Luncheon group and Angolan Community
Association
- 4 groups are receiving on-going support towards further
progress and to support them in providing quality service
to their clients. These are Pakistan Forum, Fabric Group,
Gambian Group and Afghan Group
- Congratulations to 3 individuals who have successfully
launched new businesses in the local area, thanks to the
help of CCA. These are Makeke African General Store, Tawakal
Internet and Telecom Centre and Domestic Services
- 10 volunteers gained experience in volunteering work/developmental
aspects, with some of these progressing to higher education
and employment
